Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Dental Sterilization Tech / Office Assistant to join our busy dental practice. This role is vital in maintaining a sterile environment, supporting clinical operations, and assisting with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of infection control protocols, dental terminology, and office procedures, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional patient care. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is highly preferred. Responsibilities

• Sterilize and prepare dental instruments using aseptic techniques in compliance with infection control standards
• Assist with chairside procedures including four-handed dentistry and vital signs monitoring
• Manage medical documentation and update patient records accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
• Support front office duties such as scheduling appointments, patient check-in/out, and managing medical records
• Take and develop X-ray images, including 3D scans when necessary, adhering to safety protocols
• Assist with medical imaging procedures and ensure proper handling of dental equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sterilization area and clinical supplies
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
• Support pediatric dentistry procedures by understanding pediatric-specific protocols and terminology

Experience

• Prior experience working in a dental clinic or medical environment is preferred
• Knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including chairside assisting, infection control, and anatomy knowledge
• Familiarity with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for medical documentation and records management
• Experience with X-ray technology and 3D scanners is advantageous
• Understanding of medical coding, HIPAA regulations, and medical terminology related to dentistry
• Ability to perform vital signs monitoring and assist with pediatric dentistry procedures
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in both clinical and administrative tasks
• Certification or training in infection control techniques is a plus
