Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our manufacturing business. This role will be responsible for month-end close, financial reporting, inventory and cost accounting support, account reconciliations, and internal controls. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, experience in a manufacturing environment, and the ability to partner effectively with operations and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.
- Lead and support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare accurate financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Monitor and analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption to provide actionable insights.
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and plant leadership to improve financial visibility and cost controls.
- Monitor fixed assets, depreciation, and capital project accounting.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and U.S. GAAP.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and audit support.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to inventory, production, and general ledger accounts.
- Contribute to process improvements and ERP system optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, month-end close, and financial reporting.
- Experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA certification preferred but not required.
- Experience with inventory accounting and manufacturing ERP systems.
- Background supporting audits, process improvement initiatives, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with production, engineering, and supply chain teams.
