What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Sheriff position at Lyon County, MN?
Lyon County is hiring a full-time Deputy Sheriff. Applicants must have at a minimum an associate degree in law enforcement; be POST licensed, or eligible to be licensed at the time of appointment; and possess a valid MN driver’s license. Experience is preferred, but not required. Successful applicants must also pass a pre-employment background investigation and criminal history check as well as successful completion of a pre-employment physical including a drug and alcohol screening test prior to appointment. The 2026 pay range is $31.43-$44.01 depending on experience, with two wage increases in the first year. First review of applications is January 12, 2026.
