reset?
If so, Lyon College IS is recruiting a Helpdesk Specialist I — the noble gatekeeper of all incoming IT requests.
Your Main Quest
- Defend the Realm: Be the first line of defense by answering IT phone calls, chats, and portal requests.
- Forge the Tickets: Create, categorize, and route tickets so our other tech warriors know where to attack.
- Perform Minor Miracles: Reset passwords, unlock accounts, and solve simple technical issues like a support
wizard. - Be the Calm in the Storm: Guide faculty, staff, and students through outages or incidents with your soothing
voice and clear instructions. - Keep the Archives Updated: Document your heroic deeds (and those of others) in the ticketing system.
Your Player Stats
- Education: High school diploma required; bonus XP for some college coursework.
- Experience: 1 year in a call center, helpdesk, or customer service role is preferred, but new adventurers with
the right attitude are welcome. - Communication: Clear, friendly, and professional — you are the voice of IT.
- Tech Skills: Basic computer literacy required; familiarity with ticketing systems (SolarWinds, Freshservice,
Jira) is a plus. - Temperament: Able to stay cool when users are in full “my-email-is-down” panic mode.
