Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks and courier vehicles, including manual transmission models, to deliver packages across designated routes.
- Load and unload shipments efficiently using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods.
- Navigate delivery routes accurately, adhering to schedules while optimizing efficiency through route planning.
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging politely with recipients, answering questions, and ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to maintain safety standards and report any issues promptly.
- Assist with warehouse activities such as inventory management, moving packages within the facility, and supporting loading operations.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs of deliveries made, receipts obtained, and any delivery exceptions or incidents.
Qualifications
- Prior delivery driver experience or courier background preferred; familiarity with route driving is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving license (CDL) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
- Experience operating box trucks or similar commercial vehicles with manual transmission preferred.
- Ability to lift heavy packages repeatedly and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting and moving throughout the shift.
- Warehouse experience including using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks is beneficial but not required; training can be provided.
- Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and professional demeanor.
