Position Overview – Night Shift
As a Night Shift NEMT Driver / EMT Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring safe and reliable patient transportation during overnight hours. Night shift team members support hospital discharges, interfacility transfers, dialysis returns, long-term care transports, and other essential services that occur outside of traditional business hours.
This role requires professionalism, alertness, strong situational awareness, and the ability to work effectively in a quieter but operationally critical overnight environment. You will work closely with EMTs, dispatch, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional patient care.
Night shift is ideal for individuals who are dependable, self-motivated, and thrive in structured, focused work environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist EMTs with non-emergency medical transports during overnight operations
- Safely transport non-ambulatory and mobility-assisted patients
- Properly load, secure, and unload patients using stretchers, wheelchairs, and safety equipment
- Maintain patient dignity, comfort, and professionalism at all times
- Safely operate company vehicles in low-visibility and nighttime driving conditions
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are clean, sanitized, stocked, and inspection-ready
- Complete documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, hospital staff, and team members
- Adhere strictly to company policies, safety protocols, and compliance standards
- Maintain alertness and readiness throughout the duration of overnight shifts
What We’re Looking For
- Clean background check and driving record
- Ability to lift up to 150 lbs., and push, pull, bend, and move without restrictions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High level of reliability and punctuality for overnight scheduling
- Ability to remain alert, focused, and professional during night hours
- Patient-focused mindset with compassionate bedside manner
- EMT certification not required (excellent opportunity for aspiring EMTs or those entering healthcare)
