What are the responsibilities and job description for the SENIOR MANAGER - FACILITIES MAINTENANCE position at LYNX - Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority?

- Plans, coordinates, supervises, and evaluates the work of assigned staff; administers work assignments and monitors deadlines, meets with staff regularly to identify and resolve problems; monitors staff adherence to departmental policies, as well as state and federal rules and regulations, develops and implements internal controls to ensure that all division policies and procedures are adhered to, counsels employees to correct deficiencies and takes corrective action as necessary, interprets and applies all pertinent provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreements and participates in the disciplinary process including conducting investigations.
- Develops, implements, and manages a comprehensive facilities program for the servicing of LYNX’s facilities and structures, which includes implementing effective facilities maintenance policies and procedures, preventive maintenance strategies and schedules, proactive equipment management/replacement, and conservative energy management strategies.
- Advises Director of Maintenance on facilities-related matters that may have an adverse impact on operations and formulate suitable recommendations to mitigate impact on daily operations.
- Inspects all LYNX facilities on a monthly basis, reports findings and recommendations to Director of Maintenance, and initiates and monitors remedial action as directed.
- Manages a work order system to track workflow and resources and assess work performance.
- Manages facilities-related service contracts and maintains constant communication with vendors to ensure contracted services are being rendered according to contract stipulations.
- Assists with the oversight of special projects; develops project budgets and tracks expenditures.
- Assists with the coordination of permit processes required by local, regional, and state jurisdictions and regulatory agencies.
- Assists in the development and preparation of the division’s operating and capital budgets; identifies and recommends budgetary requirements including personnel and materials to ensure sufficient resources to provide safe and reliable bus service; monitors expenditures in accordance with financial guidelines to ensure budgetary controls and efficient operations; creates requisitions and processes invoices for facilities-related materials, supplies, and services.

- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of management experience, including 3 years directly supervising maintenance staff, preferably in a union environment.
- Valid Florida driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in a management role in the public sector, government, or transit environment is highly desired.
