Special Education Teacher - Gr. 5-8

2025-2026 Special Education Teacher Grades 5-8 Lynnfield Middle School Required Qualifications: - Severe special needs certification and/or moderate disabilities is required - SEI Endorsement - Excellent written and oral communication skills Responsibilities and Qualifications: - BCBA certification or prior ABA experience working with children with academic/behavioral challenges - Provide direct academic and social/emotional instruction - Experience coordinating and supervising a team of paraprofessionals working with students throughout the school setting - Collaborate with general education teachers, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, district BCBA, direct providers, and other special educators - Responsible for following the student IEP and ensuring compliance with state and federal SPED regulations, including the delivery of high-quality services, and the provision of accommodations/modifications for instruction and assessment - Experience developing/modifying social, emotional, academic curriculum, and behavioral programs for a wide variety of learning profiles - Experience with working with teachers to ensure inclusive opportunities for students with varying needs - Experience with analyzing and interpreting standardized testing results - Experience with data collection and progress monitoring tools. Experience with the Autism Curriculum Encyclopedia preferred - Experience with co-teaching and inclusion support - Experience with effective and consistent parent/guardian communication - Experience working with students with autism, social/emotional diagnoses, and behavioral challenges is strongly preferred - Performance of other job-related duties as assigned
