As the Studio Manager, you will collaborate closely with the leadership team, the building community, and contractors, and you'll play a primary role in ensuring the art center’s smooth operation.

The Studio Manager reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities

  • Tour and inspect the building regularly, monitor property cleanliness, and document any deficiencies to report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Manage maintenance requests received, including facilitating minor repairs and needs, and contacting vendors to resolve larger issues.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the building community, including sourcing information and marketing materials to be included on the Lynn Museum & Arts Center website and social media channels, maintaining a calendar of building activities, and creating promotional signage to be featured within the property.
  • Foster a fun, creative, and engaging environment for building community members, including regular e-mail communication.
  • Respond to inquiries for studio space, maintain the waitlist for studio space, and show available units to interested parties.
  • Manage a gallery program in the shared spaces throughout the building, featuring artwork produced by building community members.
  • Attend weekly meetings with the leadership team regarding building activity, marketing, and maintenance issues.
  • Help organize the annual Open Studios event, including event promotion, encouraging participation throughout the property, and day-of support.
  • Assist with other duties associated with the day-to-day.

Experience

  • Successful candidates should have, at a minimum, three years of experience in the field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of arts and culture and the local creative community.
  • Supervision/general management experience with a proven track record of effectively delegating tasks.
  • Prior experience working for a cultural organization is preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Google Suite) and social media skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Must possess enthusiasm and be comfortable engaging with all levels of stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills are required.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask while maintaining deadlines.
  • Occasional evening and weekend hours required.
  • Has high-level time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Able to lift up to 20 pounds.

Compensation

  • Part-time, hourly position (20 hours per week, $25 per hour)
  • Private studio/office space.
  • Cellphone exclusively for work-related needs.
  • Flexible work schedule.
