What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving Clerk position at Lyneer Staffing Solutions?
Our client, a wholesale apparel and distribution company, is looking for a Shipping and Receiving Manager to join their team in Kingston, NY. In this role, you will own both inbound receiving and outbound shipping operations, ensuring accurate check-in of incoming goods, timely and correct outbound shipments, and proactive communication of any shortages, damages, or discrepancies before they impact production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and verify all inbound shipments against packing slips and purchase orders
- Receive and sign for UPS, FedEx, and freight deliveries
- Count and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and condition
- Stage and route received goods to the correct area within the facility
- Identify, document, and report missing pieces, shortages, wrong items, or damage promptly so production is never caught off guard
- Prepare, pack, and process outbound shipments via UPS, FedEx, and freight carriers
- Generate shipping labels and Bills of Lading and schedule carrier pickups
- Verify outbound orders are complete and accurate before they ship
- Obtain and compare freight quotes as needed
- Coordinate delivery and pickup schedules with carriers
- Communicate with customers via email regarding order status, arrivals, shipments, and discrepancies
- Keep the shipping and receiving area organized and running efficiently at all times
Requirements:
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
- Computer competent and comfortable with scanning tools, order systems, and email
- Comfortable communicating with customers and coordinating with carriers including UPS, FedEx, and freight
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and the ability to flag discrepancies same-day
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stay on feet for a full shift
Pay & Schedule:
- Pay Rate: $22.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience)
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
