What are the responsibilities and job description for the Literacy Interventionist position at Lyndon Town School?
Lyndon Town School is seeking a Literacy Intervention Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates must be dynamic, high quality literacy leaders interested in joining a high energy, developing professional learning community. Responsibilities include both delivering explicit literacy intervention to small groups of students and working collaboratively with classroom teachers to build a comprehensive literacy program. This literacy intervention teacher partners with classroom teachers in delivering researched based programing through flexible groupings and ongoing formative assessment to monitor students progress in reading and writing. The individual will work closely with school and district level literacy coaches, and school literacy specialists. The pay range for this position is $46,267-$89,467.
Experience with the workshop model, science of reading strategies and resources are a priority. Knowledge of the use of UFLI and the Bookworms programs preferred. In depth understanding of early literacy skills, evidence based interventions and assessments are required. Familiarity with the Common Core, PLC collaboration, and positive behavior interventions are critical. We seek creative, passionate teachers with a sense of humor and genuine love for working with young people while supporting teachers in building a comprehensive literacy program. Lyndon Town School is part of the Kingdom East School District, located in the heart of a vibrant community in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
