Position Summary
Lyndon USD 421 is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Night Custodian to support the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our high school facilities. This is a full-time position with benefits, ideal for an individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean, welcoming environment for students, staff, and the community.
Primary Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, locker rooms, and common areas

Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors, including periodic deep cleaning and floor care

Clean and disinfect restrooms using appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions

Empty trash and recycling containers and properly dispose of waste

Clean windows, doors, and interior glass surfaces as assigned

Set up and break down spaces for events, activities, and athletic functions as needed

Refill supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper

Follow established safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment

Secure building areas at the end of the shift and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors

Assist with seasonal deep-cleaning projects during breaks or summer months
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred, but not required

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and walking for extended periods

Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment and willingness to learn district procedures

Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality in a school setting
