What are the responsibilities and job description for the Class 1 Driver Abbotsford position at Lynden Door Trucking?

ROLE: Lynden Door Trucking, LLC continues to grow and we're looking for a full-time Class 1 driver based out of our yard in Abbotsford, BC. We are the primary carrier for Lynden Door Inc. and Alliance Door Products. We are also a licensed common carrier and haul a variety of products, all in our 53'- 2 axle and 4-axle dry van trailers. Lynden Door Trucking provides steady work year-round. Applicant needs to live within 50 Kilometers of Abbotsford BC
The role is a mixture of local lower mainland loads with 1 to 2 overnight loads per week to either the Okanagan, Island or Kootenai routes.
REGIONAL DRIVER SCHEDULE DESCRIPTION (Average 40-55 hours/week):
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Class 1 CDL license and must be able to provide a driving abstract supporting a history of safe driving
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to represent our company well
- Able to understand and adhere to all DOT driving laws and regulations
- Able to assist off-loading and tailgating product to the rear of the trailer with a pallet jack for multiple drop loads of door products
- Experience with quad (or tri) axle dry van trailers, heavy hauling and bridge law knowledge preferred
- OTR or mountain driving experience
- Able to drive is both Canada and the U.S.
- Able to pass a DOT drug and alcohol test, as required by US law
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
- Competitive hourly wages $29-31/hour, based on driving experience and years worked in the industry
- Wages paid in Canadian Funds and electronically deposited into your account every other week
- Work is steady year round not seasonal
- Bonus plan eligibility after 90 days of employment (combination of quarterly and an annual measure)
