Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like sit stand lift and gait belt
• Monitor and observe for changes in health status, including vital signs and behavioral cues related to dementia
• Administer medications accurately following medical documentation protocols
• Support clients with medical procedures such as possible catheter care, wound management, and glucose/insulin management
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote overall health
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and home organization to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment
• Use specialized equipment like sit stand lift or mobility aids safely during transfers and assist with exercises or physical therapy routines when appropriate
• Collaborate with family members and health care team as needed

Skills

• Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home health environments with a focus on senior care or individuals with disabilities is helpful but not required
• Knowledge of dementia care is also helpful but not required
• Ability to perform patient observation effectively; recognize signs of health deterioration or behavioral changes
• Excellent caregiving skills including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, possible catheter care, and vital signs monitoring
• Physical stamina for activities such as transferring clients, cleaning, laundry, cooking, and general home maintenance
• Respect for privacy of the clients
• Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare team and family members
• Emphasis on reliable, responsible and trustworthy person(s) in private home setting.

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
