Reefer carrier-specializing in food transportation
SUMMARY:
Responsible for the safe, professional, and timely transportation of refrigerated and/or food-grade freight throughout the company’s operating area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transport refrigerated, frozen, dry and/or other food-grade commodities as assigned via intrastate and interstate
- Comply with Hours-of-Service regulations and properly use the company's electronic logging device (ELD).
- Complete required pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections. Promptly report equipment defects or safety concerns.
- Follow all procedures regarding food safety, trailer cleanliness, product integrity, seal requirements, and temperature-controlled freight.
- Submit required paperwork, bills of lading, receipts, inspection documents, and other trip documentation accurately and within required timeframes.
- Must successfully pass renewal of DOT physical and required drug tests.
- Must maintain clean transportation equipment and personal appearance.
- Works with Transportation Manager on schedules
- On Time Delivery
- Performs other duties as needed and/or assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Required level of experience : 23 years of age with 2 years OTR reefer experience preferred.
- Valid CDL license with good driving record.
- Meet all applicable DOT/FMCSA driver qualification requirements.
- Meet and maintain company insurance guidelines.
- Current DOT physical; Required pre-employment drug test.
- Work well with buyers, plant personnel and maintain confidentiality.
