Headquartered in Richland, MS, with additional locations across MS, AL, LA, FL and TX, LMC performs service and repairs, both on-site and in the field, in addition to the sales, leases and rentals of heavy equipment. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a high energy, self-motivated employee who works well with others and/or independently in a safe manner.

Job Objective: The Resident Service Technician diagnoses and performs standard mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs, and assembles equipment for the company and its customers in field settings, may not report to a shop daily, and on occasion will work overtime as needed. In addition to the normal field technician responsibilities, resident technicians, also build relationships with customers, self-manage, sell their services, work as advocates for the dealer, and provide world class service without having a local brick and mortar shop.

Duties Include:

· Serve as quick responders to our customers in the designated geographical area.

· Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and locate mechanical deficiencies on Heavy Equipment as assigned by the branch manager.

· Proper use of diagnostic equipment.

· Determine extent of necessary repairs including identifying major powertrain overhaul needs. 

· Prepare orders for required services. Source and order parts as needed.

· Repair and/or replace all components of diesel engines, hydraulic, air conditioning, electrical, and suspension systems, drive trains, steering, braking, material handling, operator comfort systems, and other functions as necessary to bring machine up to operating status.

· Update manager and customer on any obstacles that come up during the repair process.

· Assist branch manager in managing WIP and properly billing customers.

· Report back to branch manager any issues with a customer that is prohibiting our ability to provide world class services.

· Develop trust and rapport with customers to assist in mitigating any customer concerns.

· Read, analyze, and interpret technical information from schematics, technical manuals, drawings and procedures, and governmental regulations.

· Perform welding and brazing, fabricate, and modify parts, equipment, miscellaneous structures, and attachments.

· Keep branch manager informed on special parts orders, shortages and malfunctions.

· Complete all work orders (including warranty information) and time sheets in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.

· Maintain a current knowledge of products, technology and models by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications.

· Keep field service vehicle clean and serviced.

· Help control expenses and produce as much quality work as possible.

· Build and maintain a customer base in area of responsibility (AOR) to ensure a continuous workflow.

· Help maintain cleanliness, neatness, and safety of personal workspace, building and lot.

· Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety program at all times.

· Other work-related functions as assigned by management.

Work Environment:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.

· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

· While performing duties, the employee may be near moving mechanical parts, and exposed to outside weather conditions.

Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 

· Ability to get around the dealership and grounds for various tasks.

· Ability to operate a commercial class vehicle including proper licensing and MVR.

· The employee would normally lift or move 20 lbs., frequently lift or move up to 45 lbs. and occasionally lifts or move up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to tolerate up and down movement with bending or stooping including reaching above and below shoulder height with arms and hands.

· Ability to be on one's feet for extended periods of time.

· Ability to climb a ladder with the ability to carry an object while climbing.

· Ability to utilize appropriate PPE.

· Ability to operate equipment or other powered devices as necessary.

· Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs. of force with assisted devices.

· Must be able to operate a service truck crane.
