We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Excavation Foreman to join our dynamic team. As a pivotal player in our operations, you will be responsible for leading excavation projects, primarily focused on trenching and digging bell holes for the installation of gas service lines in residential areas. This role demands precision, safety awareness, and effective team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise your team in the safe and efficient operation of installing residential gas service lines.
- Plan and execute trenching and digging operations for the installation of gas service lines, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and operational standards.
- Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of excavation projects.
- Conduct site evaluations to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Oversee the maintenance and proper functioning of excavation equipment.
- Train and mentor team members in safe excavation practices and equipment operation.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, equipment usage, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with utility inspectors and CenterPoint Energy representatives to ensure adherence to project specifications and standards.
- Manage on-site materials and resources efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Excavation Foreman or similar role in utility construction.
- Strong proficiency in operating mini excavators and other related heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of gas service line installation and associated safety practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to adhering to strict safety standards and regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (2 year minimum).
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
- Ability to pass a drug test as well as random testing
- Clean background check required. No felonies, theft, assault, drug, etc.. convictions
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
