About the Position
We are seeking a reliable, energetic Food Runner to join our restaurant team. In this role, you will help ensure every dish reaches the correct guest promptly, accurately, and with professional presentation. You will work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to keep service organized and provide a welcoming, attentive dining experience.
The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, communicates clearly, and stays focused during busy service.
Responsibilities
- Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct tables and guests using table and seat numbers.
- Check dishes against order tickets and confirm that plates are complete, properly presented, and ready to serve.
- Communicate with the kitchen, expeditor, and servers about missing items, special requests, and service timing.
- Learn the menu, including dish names, ingredients, accompaniments, and common allergens.
- Confirm allergy-related questions or dietary requests with the appropriate team member; never guess or make substitutions without approval.
- Present dishes professionally and identify each item when serving guests.
- Bring necessary utensils, condiments, and accompaniments with each course.
- Assist servers with clearing plates, resetting tables, and maintaining an organized dining room as needed.
- Keep food pickup areas, trays, service stations, and walkways clean and organized.
- Restock service supplies and complete assigned opening, closing, and side-work duties.
- Handle plates and trays safely, including hot dishes, and follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Respond courteously to guest requests and promptly communicate concerns to a server or manager.
- Maintain a neat appearance, follow uniform standards, and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a food runner, server assistant, or in another restaurant role is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to guest service.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with both kitchen and dining room teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm in a busy restaurant environment.
- Dependability, punctuality, and a willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow service procedures and take direction from managers and team members.
- Availability to work flexible shifts & weekends.
Physical Requirements
This position involves standing and walking for extended periods, bending, reaching, and safely carrying plates and loaded trays through a busy dining room. Candidates must be able to perform the essential duties of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10.0 – 40.0 per week
