Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, ensuring accuracy in double entry bookkeeping and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify the integrity of financial data.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment scheduling.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, and Paychex to record transactions and generate reports.
- Perform payroll management tasks using systems like ADP or UltiPro while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws.
- Support governmental and non-profit accounting functions by maintaining accurate records for audits and regulatory reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and data entry tasks that support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements through meticulous documentation and process adherence.
Experience
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting roles with a strong understanding of financial concepts.
- Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with payroll management systems like ADP or Paychex along with experience in tax preparation and compliance.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards combined with practical experience in technical accounting and account reconciliation.
- Background in public accounting or non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
- Strong mathematical skills coupled with attention to detail for accurate data entry and account analysis.
- Ability to perform balance sheet reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management efficiently.
