We are seeking an ESS Heavy Transportation & Project Logistics Manager, who will lead the development, coordination, and execution of complex Energy Storage System (ESS) logistics projects across Americas. This role is intended to establish LX Pantos’ capability to compete in:
- ESS logistics,
- engineered transportation,
- oversized project cargo,
- and future infrastructure logistics opportunities
through a scalable and repeatable operational model rather than reactive project-based execution.
■ About the Role
The ESS Heavy Transportation & Project Logistics Manager will serve as the central solution owner for ESS-related transportation, yard operations, permitting coordination, specialized carrier management, and cross-functional project execution.
This position is responsible for transforming one-time project execution into a scalable and repeatable logistics capability by establishing operational playbooks, carrier ecosystems, engineering coordination processes, and structured execution governance.
The role acts as the primary internal project lead between:
- Sales
- Contract Logistics
- Transportation Procurement
- StarLinks / BoxLinks
■ Responsibilities
1. ESS Project & Solution Management
- Lead end-to-end ESS logistics projects from RFQ stage through operational execution.
- Design transportation and yard operation concepts for ESS and oversized cargo movements.
- Coordinate routing, permitting, compliance, equipment sourcing, and execution planning.
- Act as the primary internal project manager for ESS opportunities.
2. Heavy Transportation & Carrier Management
- Build and manage a qualified heavy-haul carrier network across North America.
- Support onboarding and qualification of specialized carriers and project logistics partners.
- Validate carrier capabilities, route feasibility, and operational reliability.
- Coordinate with transportation procurement teams on pricing, capacity, and risk mitigation.
3. Yard & Infrastructure Coordination
- Support yard selection, operational design, and equipment requirements for ESS storage operations.
- Coordinate yard layout concepts, handling flows, and operational readiness plans.
- Support evaluation of straddle carriers, specialized chassis, lifting equipment, and heavy handling solutions.
4. Permit & Route Engineering Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders regarding: DOT regulations, overweight permits, state routing requirements, escort requirements, and route engineering.
- Maintain standardized routing and permit playbooks for future ESS projects.
5. Cross-Functional Project Leadership
- Lead coordination across: Sales, CL, StarLinks, BoxLinks, Operations, Procurement, PI, and external partners.
- Establish clear project governance and milestone tracking.
- Manage RFQ timelines, deliverables, and escalation processes.
6. Product & Capability Development
- Support development of a scalable ESS logistics product offering.
- Build standardized: RFQ frameworks, pricing models, operating procedures, risk assessments, and execution playbooks.
- Identify capability gaps and support long-term operational roadmap development.
■ Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in Heavy transportation, Project logistics, Oversize & overweight transportation, Energy / ESS / infrastructure logistics, EPC or industrial project management
- Specialized trucking or project cargo operations
- Strong understanding of heavy-haul transportation, permitting processes, route planning, and project execution.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional logistics projects.
- Strong commercial and operational understanding.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in fast-paced project environments.
- Experience working with specialized carriers, transportation providers, or industrial logistics vendors.
- Strong communication and project leadership skills.
■ Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ESS/BESS logistics, renewable energy infrastructure, battery logistics, data center infrastructure, transformer logistics, wind/solar project cargo, or industrial EPC projects.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations, overweight permitting, hazardous cargo handling, and engineered transportation solutions.
- Existing carrier/vendor network within North America heavy-haul market.
- PMP certification or similar project management background preferred.
