Job Summary
The pricing analyst will be responsible for providing ocean (FCL & LCL), air, trucking rate quotations to customers & sales teams by obtaining the rates from respective ocean/air carriers, truckers, warehouses and our own offices in overseas. Also coordinate with customers, operation teams and overseas offices to facilitate the bookings secured when required and assist with any ad hoc issues.
Job Responsibilities
The candidate will spend most of their time working directly with experienced professionals in the industry, assisting in the following activities:
- Provide FCL, LCL, Air freights, origin/destination door costs for all rate inquiries received globally on a daily basis.
- Contact overseas offices to obtain origin pick up/destination delivery & local costs when required
- Provide origin/destination/ocean/air/LCL rates for all RFQs received from overseas offices including FOB customers from U.S.
- Obtain & negotiate trucking/drayage rates from truckers & warehouses including transloading operation costs for all imports & exports & U.S. domestic OTRs.
- Obtain & negotiate LCL, FCL, Air rates from co-loaders, ocean carriers, air carriers directly for U.S. exports & imports.
- Monitoring and solving daily domestic and international issue related to Ocean (LCL/FCL) & Air shipments
- Actively and effectively communicate with customers, outside sales and related parties
- Assist with export operation team to book with proper routes with each respective carrier rates to ensure correct rates are applied
- Assist with import operation team with any trucking rate issues and provide the drayage/OTR rates as needed.
- Update the drayage costs on a monthly basis for regular import & export lanes to both operation teams.
- Build a portfolio of accounts, manage and update database and report to management
- Keep close contact with customers, monitor their shipments performance and make necessary calls to fulfill customer’s needs
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
Requirements
- BA or Associated degree preferred
- Ocean/Air Logistics with a minimum 2 year global trade industry experience
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment within a team setting
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently
- Strong inter-personal and communication skills, both verbally and written
