What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Material Handler position at LW Flooring?
Warehouse Materials Handler should have an eye for detail and be able to follow instruction. You will be operating a forklift to move packages and material around our facilities with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve driving around the warehouse and storage spaces. Must be a responsible individual with great experience and the goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency. Use scanners and be able to accurately read labels to ensure all parcels are properly processed and tracked. This position also assures maintenance and orderliness of the facility and inventory alongside the warehouse supervisor. To be successful, should have good communication and comprehension skills.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Communicate daily with Warehouse Supervisor to complete customer orders, returns and transfers
Politely and Professionally communicate with staff & customers
Able to work individually, as well in a team, direction of an reporting back to the Warehouse Supervisor when tasks are completed
Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places
Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment
Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
Transport raw materials to production workstations
Stocking received material off the container or truck
Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety
Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs
Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
Pick, pack, prepare and ship packages
Any other normal warehouse functions
As a team member of LW Flooring, perform other miscellanies tasks outside of their normal day-to-day duties when needed
SUGGESTED DUTIES:
Contribute in the improvement and implementation of warehousing policies to minimize mistakes and the overall time it takes to complete tasks.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required
Able to read a pick list, receiving list and B.O. L.
Regularly be on your feet and walking throughout a warehouse environment
Required to use hands, reach with hands and arms and talk and hear
Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
Must have good vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral and depth perception
Ability to frequently lift a 75 lbs at a time
Attention to detail
Forklift certified or able to obtain forklift certification upon acceptance of job.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, pallet wrapping machines/tools, power tools, saws, box cutters and tape dispensers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
POSITION TYPE & EXPECTED HOURS WORKED
This is a part-time position with the possibility of moving to full-time. Days of work are Monday through Friday, with hours set by supervisor.
