Our client, a well-established civil engineering firm, is seeking a Transportation Project Manager to lead roadway design projects and manage client relationships in Charlotte, NC. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional with 10 years of transportation engineering experience and a strong background working with public agencies and state DOTs across the Southeast.
The Transportation Project Manager will be responsible for:
- Managing roadway design projects from concept through final plans
- Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with DOT and AASHTO standards
- Overseeing geometric design, corridor modeling, and traffic control plans
- Leading project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
- Coordinating with internal teams, subconsultants, and clients
- Mentoring junior engineers and supporting staff development
- Assisting with proposals, scope development, and client presentations
- Driving quality control and ensuring compliance with applicable standards
The ideal candidate will have:
- 10 years of experience in transportation engineering with a roadway focus
- Strong knowledge of DOT standards and procedures
- Proven experience managing projects and leading teams
- Proficiency in design software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads, or similar
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
