About the Opportunity
A global leader in mission-critical infrastructure solutions is seeking a Mechanical Thermal Engineer to join its New Product Development team focused on next-generation modular data center technologies.
This position offers the opportunity to work on highly technical cooling and HVAC solutions supporting large-scale data centers and critical facilities. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, and implementation of thermal systems while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design HVAC and thermal management systems for new products and customer projects
- Perform equipment selection and thermal system sizing calculations
- Develop thermal schematics and engineering documentation
- Create and maintain 3D models and detailed engineering drawings
- Conduct CFD analysis and energy compliance evaluations
- Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and support manufacturing integration activities
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and project engineering teams
- Provide technical support during production, testing, and commissioning phases
- Work with suppliers and procurement teams on component selection and sourcing
- Support customer-facing engineering activities, including technical presentations and solution development
- Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 2 years of experience in HVAC, thermal systems, mechanical design, or related engineering disciplines
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, or similar design platforms
- Ability to develop and interpret HVAC construction documents and technical specifications
- Understanding of energy codes and HVAC design principles
- Knowledge of thermal analysis, cooling systems, or critical facility infrastructure preferred
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced engineering environment
Preferred Experience
- Data center, mission-critical, industrial, or modular infrastructure experience
- CFD modeling and thermal analysis experience
- Exposure to manufacturing, product development, or complex engineered systems
- Experience collaborating with vendors and cross-functional teams
Travel
- Approximately 15-25% domestic and occasional international travel
