Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Controls Engineer to design, implement, troubleshoot, and maintain control systems for automated production equipment. This role involves working on projects from initial concept through completion, applying engineering expertise to solve technical challenges and improve machine performance.
- Develop and maintain hardware and software for industrial control systems.
- Collaborate on projects from design phase to final delivery.
- Apply engineering principles to optimize equipment functionality.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in automation systems.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and project requirements.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in advanced technology tools and engineering software.
- Effective communication skills for team collaboration and client interaction.
- Capable of working independently on complex technical problems.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (approx. 20%).
- Solid understanding of electrical design standards (NFPA, ISO).
- Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical schematics.
- Experience with industrial control platforms and automation equipment.
- Familiarity with safety PLCs, safety devices, and failsafe designs.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs and SPLCs (Rockwell or Siemens).
- Knowledge of HMIs (Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, Beckhoff preferred).
- Exposure to industrial robotics programming and machine vision systems (Cognex, Keyence preferred).
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromechanics, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems.
- Strong background in programming and troubleshooting automation hardware/software.
Based in Alpharetta, GA, with travel across North America as needed.
