Senior Construction Administrator - Healthcare, Sports & Entertainment, Mission Critical
A leading architecture and design firm is seeking a Senior Construction Administrator to support projects across healthcare, sports & entertainment, and mission critical sectors. This individual will serve as a recognized leader in construction administration, providing technical expertise and acting as a trusted advisor on large, complex projects. The role requires strong communication skills, creative problem-solving, and the ability to build and maintain effective client relationships while making high-impact decisions related to building systems and code compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead construction phase services across multiple concurrent projects, including site meetings, submittal reviews, RFIs, and payment applications
- Collaborate closely with owners, design teams, and contractors to ensure project goals and requirements are met
- Apply expertise in building systems (architectural, structural, civil, etc.) and applicable codes across healthcare, sports & entertainment, and mission critical projects
- Manage RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation using digital management tools
- Interpret design intent and communicate effectively with project teams
- Monitor scope changes and identify potential additional services, coordinating with project leadership
- Review shop drawings and product data for compliance with contract documents and quality standards
- Conduct site visits, prepare field reports, and observe construction progress
- Evaluate cost impacts and administer change orders, substitutions, delays, and payment applications
- Facilitate communication and coordination among owners, consultants, and contractors
- Lead internal and external meetings, including preparation of meeting minutes and coordination documentation
- Support team development, mentorship, and a collaborative work environment
- Promote sustainable design practices and uphold high standards of design excellence
- Contribute to business development efforts, including client engagement, proposals, and interviews
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Science, or related field preferred
- Professional licensure (RA) preferred
- 10 years of construction administration or related experience
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Newforma, and other industry-standard software preferred
- Strong knowledge of building codes, QA/QC processes, and contract administration
- Familiarity with Owner-Architect, Owner-Contractor, and Consultant agreements
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
