What are the responsibilities and job description for the Interior Design Associate position at LVD SPACES?
Our growing interior design team is seeking a talented, motivated, Interior Designer who is eager to collaborate with and execute the design of our residential and commercial spaces. This candidate will be responsible for producing high quality project design deliverables across conceptual design, construction and renovation materials and elevations and FF&E selections and procurement. This candidate will communicate directly with clients, have project management skills and ensure the facilitation of a project’s completion; on-time, on/under-budget, and meets quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate in the selection of material specifications, including, product and vendor research
- Create digital presentations and material specification sheets
- Coordinate and manage project timelines and budgets
- Work closely with clients and vendors including builders, architects, fabricators and installers to execute each project's design intent
- Read architectural plans and produce scaled sketches, drawings and room layouts; encouraged to recognize and propose enhancements
- Communicate with Project Manager/Lead Designer regularly, alerting them of possible problems or conflicts with project specs, drawings, vendor delays, etc.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date client binders
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture from an accredited institution or combination of education and experience
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a related role
- Experience in residential interior design is required; experience in commercial interior design is a plus
- Demonstrate a good eye for scale and balance, color and material relationships in both architecture and FF&E
- Strong skills in Google Suite Documents, specifically slides and sheets (Microsoft Office excel or powerpoint equivalent)
- Experience with Photoshop, Bluebeam, SketchUp and AutoCAD (or equivalent program) is a plus
- Experience with quotes, proposals, budgets, purchase orders and purchasing process
- Excellent attention to detail and highly organized
- Ability to multi-task; meet deadlines and is eager to learn and grow with firm
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Have a positive, friendly, professional attitude and a good sense of humor
- Possess the passion and curiosity to constantly research and explore innovative materials
