Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Marine Mechanic to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining and repairing water transportation equipment. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of marine engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient operation of vessels, supporting our commitment to excellence in marine maintenance. Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on marine engines, propulsion systems, and electrical systems using schematics and technical drawings.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on water transportation equipment, including mechanical systems repair and electrical diagnostics.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, calipers, and precision measuring instruments to execute repairs accurately.
  • Interpret technical schematics and diagrams to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Fabricate or modify parts using sheet metal work, welding, or assembly techniques to meet specific operational needs.
  • Follow safety protocols by properly using personal protective equipment (PPE) during all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of repairs performed for compliance and future reference.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Marine Mechanic or Service Technician with a strong background in marine engine repair and mechanical systems repair.
  • Knowledge of marine electrical systems troubleshooting, ship electrical systems maintenance, and marine propulsion systems maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals accurately.
  • Experience with diesel mechanics, water transportation equipment maintenance, rigging, welding, soldering, and fabrication processes.
  • Familiarity with heavy lifting techniques and the proper use of hand tools, power tools, calipers, ohmmeters (electrical diagnostics), and maintenance equipment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience in interpreting technical drawings and performing engineering troubleshooting.
  • Military experience or background in engineering troubleshooting is a plus but not required.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with team members and clients alike.
  • Commitment to safety practices by consistently utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) during all tasks.
