What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Logistics Driver position at LV CNC?
π Full-Time | LV CNC
LV CNC is a precision CNC machine shop serving customers in the oil & gas, aerospace, and industrial manufacturing sectors. We are seeking a dependable and motivated Materials Logistics Driver to support the transportation of raw materials, tooling, machined components, and customer orders that are critical to our manufacturing operations. This is not a typical delivery driver position.
While this role does not require a CDL, it does require a professional who understands the importance of material handling, delivery accuracy, production schedules, customer commitments, and supplier relationships. The successful candidate will serve as a key link between our machine shop, customers, suppliers, processors, and vendors. Every pickup and delivery directly impacts our ability to meet production schedules and deliver quality products on time.
When transportation duties are not required, this individual will support manufacturing operations through material handling, shipping and receiving activities, inventory organization, and general shop support.
- Safely operate company flatbed work trucks and other company vehicles.
- Perform scheduled pickups and deliveries of raw materials, tooling, machined components, supplies, and customer orders.
- Transport materials between customers, suppliers, subcontractors, processors, and company facilities.
- Load, unload, inspect, and properly secure materials for transportation.
- Verify packing slips, purchase orders, certifications, and delivery documentation.
- Maintain delivery records and ensure accurate documentation of all transactions.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
- Coordinate delivery priorities with production, purchasing, and management teams.
- Represent LV CNC professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, and suppliers.
- Support urgent customer and production requirements when necessary.
When deliveries and pickups are complete, you will become an active member of the production support team by:
- Moving raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods throughout the facility.
- Assisting with shipping, receiving, packaging, and inventory organization.
- Supporting machinists with material staging and production needs.
- Assisting with deburring, cleaning, and preparation of machined components.
- Operating forklifts and material handling equipment when authorized.
- Maintaining shop cleanliness and organization in accordance with safety and 5S standards.
- Supporting production schedules through efficient material movement and organization.
The ideal candidate understands that this role is much more than driving.
You take pride in:
- Safely transporting high-value materials and machined components.
- Supporting manufacturing operations and production schedules.
- Maintaining accuracy and accountability in everything you do.
- Building professional relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Protecting materials from damage and maintaining traceability.
- Being part of a team that depends on your reliability and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to safely operate a flatbed work truck.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to read and understand packing slips, delivery paperwork, and shipping documentation.
- Experience in a CNC machine shop, manufacturing facility, fabrication shop, warehouse, industrial distribution company, or oil & gas service environment.
- Experience transporting industrial materials, metal products, tooling, or manufactured components.
- Forklift certification or material handling equipment experience.
- Experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, or logistics operations.
- Understanding of material traceability, quality requirements, and customer service in a manufacturing environment.
At LV CNC, we take pride in delivering precision-machined components that help our customers succeed. We believe every team member plays a critical role in our success and are committed to building a culture focused on quality, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
