The Role
We are hiring a full-time Electrical Engineer 2 to join our expanding Power Systems Analysis team. This role centers on relay settings and system studies, making it a great fit for engineers who enjoy working with tools like ETAP, SKM, or ASPEN and thrive on solving complex challenges in protection coordination, arc flash analysis, and electrical system modeling
You'll support a variety of utility and industrial projects, contributing to the modeling, design, and commissioning of protection systems. This position offers hands-on exposure to real-world applications of electrical theory and the opportunity to build expertise in a specialized and expanding field.
What Your Day Will Look Like:
- Develop and validate relay settings for protective devices used in substations and industrial power systems.
- Conduct power system studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, equipment evaluation, and coordination analysis.
- Interpret time-current curves and establish protection strategies that align with client standards and system requirements.
- Utilize software tools like ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or ASPEN to model electrical networks and generate actionable study results.
- Prepare and review one-line diagrams, protection schematics, and device coordination plans to support design accuracy.
- Collaborate with substation and protection & control teams to integrate study outcomes into project designs.
- Document technical approaches, findings, and recommendations in clear, professional reports.
- Provide on-site support for commissioning, data collection, and troubleshooting activities as needed (up to 15% travel).
What You'll Bring to the Familia:
Essentials to Succeed:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience performing system studies and/or protection-related engineering
- Experience with ETAP, SKM, ASPEN, or similar software required
- Understanding of relay types, protection schemes, and coordination methods
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC, NEC, NETA)
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- FE exam passed or in progress
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed
