Sound like a familia you're ready to join? Here's the details on what we are looking for in this position:

LUZCO Technologies is seeking an experienced Physical Substation Engineer to join our team on either a part-time or full-time basis. This role will focus on performing Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews of physical substation design packages. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in substation physical layout, constructability, and utility standards, and is committed to upholding engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Review general arrangements, sections, conduit plans, grounding, and equipment layouts for accuracy and constructability
• Ensure compliance with utility standards, NESC/NEC codes, and Luzco’s internal QA/QC expectations
• Provide detailed redlines, technical feedback, and mentorship to design teams
• Assist in enhancing and maintaining QA/QC checklists and internal review procedures
• Collaborate with project leads and engineers to resolve design issues and ensure quality deliverables
  
  

Required Skills:

• 10 years of experience in substation physical design (greenfield and brownfield)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and meet review deadlines with minimal oversight
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
• Solid understanding of utility substation layout, design standards, and industry best practices
• Strong proficiency reviewing CAD-based deliverables (AutoCAD or MicroStation)
  
  

Preferred Skills:

• Experience performing QA/QC in a consulting engineering environment
• Familiarity with Ameren or other Midwest utility standards
• Willingness to attend occasional meetings during normal business hours
  
  

Work Arrangement:

Flexible remote work is available, though preference will be given to candidates located near the St. Louis, MO office who may be able to attend occasional in-person meetings if needed.
