MES Operations & Maintenance Manager

I. Position Overview

Position Title: MES Operations & Maintenance Manager

Department: Manufacturing Technology Department / IT Department

Reports to: IT Engineering Director

Core Value of the Position: Ensure the stable, efficient, and continuous operation of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to support real-time production management, quality traceability, and data-driven decision-making. This role acts as a bridge between business operations and IT, responsible for system implementation, maintenance, user support, requirement analysis, and continuous improvement, ultimately maximizing production efficiency and ensuring seamless digital manufacturing.

II. Key Responsibilities

1.System Implementation & Maintenance

• Lead the implementation, configuration, and daily operations & maintenance of the MES system across production lines, ensuring high availability and data integrity.
• Assist in organizing MES interface examples for test stations and conduct technical alignment with equipment vendors to ensure stable data integration.

2.Business Support & Troubleshooting

• Respond promptly to issues raised by business departments during production, coordinate relevant resources (IT, equipment, development teams) to resolve problems and ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor real-time production line status, proactively identify and address potential system bottlenecks to maximize production efficiency.

3.Requirement Analysis & System Optimization

• Conduct in-depth analysis of business department needs, write clear requirement documents, and optimize system functions and process design.
• Evaluate the feasibility of development requests, prioritize them, and drive their implementation to enhance system capabilities.
• Technical Collaboration & Development Support
• Demonstrate strong technical coordination skills, assisting developers in system secondary development (customization) and providing technical support for continuous system improvement.

4.Training & User Enablement

• Develop MES training plans and materials, regularly organize training sessions for relevant departments to improve user proficiency and operational skills.

5.Reporting & Data Support

• Continuously optimize the alignment between the system and business needs, ensuring a user-friendly interface and comprehensive functionality.
• Generate clear and actionable reports to help users efficiently leverage data for decision-making.
• Regularly compile and issue MES Fault Injection related reports to support system reliability analysis.

III. Qualifications & Requirements

1.Basic Requirements

• Education: Full-time Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Automation, or related fields.

2.Work Experience

• Mid-level / Senior: 3-8 years of experience in MES system implementation, operations, maintenance, or related roles within a manufacturing environment (electronics, automotive, or semiconductor industries preferred).
• Experience with SMT or other discrete manufacturing processes is a strong plus. Proficiency in Chinese is preferred.

3.Technical Skills

• System Knowledge: Familiarity with MES platforms (e.g., Siemens SIMATIC IT, SAP MES, Rockwell FactoryTalk, or domestic systems like Kingdee/UFIDA MES) and their integration with ERP, SCM, and equipment systems.
• Technical Proficiency: Understanding of database management (SQL, Oracle), scripting (Python, PowerShell), and system integration methods (API, EDI, OPC-UA, Modbus).
• Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI) for data analysis, reporting, and training material creation.
