Duties
- Conduct thorough eye examinations utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment to assess visual acuity, ocular health, and overall eye function
- Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, astigmatism, and other ocular diseases
- Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and medications as needed to optimize patient vision and comfort
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) or Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Educate patients on eye health, proper contact lens care, and preventive measures to promote long-term ocular wellness
- Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals on complex cases requiring specialized intervention
- Stay current with advancements in ophthalmology, optometry techniques, and medical terminology to ensure the highest standard of patient care
Requirements
- Valid state licensure as an Optometrist with appropriate certifications to practice in the region
- New Grad are welcome.
- Proven experience in ophthalmology or optometry practice, including optical experience and pediatrics when applicable
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy of the eye, and medical coding practices related to eye care services
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient visits and medical records
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care, communication, and building trustful relationships
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment, aseptic techniques during examinations, and utilize medical terminology accurately
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards to ensure patient confidentiality at all times
