- Order and maintain all medical/nursing supplies used within the facility, ensuring supplies are fully stocked and accessible throughout all departments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient supply system for inventory, storage, and distribution.
- Complete inventories of all medical/nursing supplies and Durable Medical Equipment (DME) at least quarterly.
- Oversee the upkeep of DME including cleaning, replacement when needed, and proper storage.
- Monitor sharps disposal containers and complete container changes as needed.
- Maintain safe storage, monitoring, and handling of oxygen tanks and supplies.
- Keep the nurses’ station organized, including replenishing nursing forms as needed.
- Maintain the fax machine at the nurses’ station, including ink and paper replacement.
- Coordinate and prepare all resident information needed for medical appointments, transfers, or discharges.
- Assist in scheduling and organizing transportation for residents to off-site medical appointments when needed.
- Ensure transportation logs, paperwork, and communication with nursing staff and families are accurate and timely.
- Assist with answering phones and addressing family/resident concerns in a courteous, professional manner.
- Assist with filing and maintaining nursing department records including schedules, employee files, consult reports, and assignment sheets.
- Initiate daily nursing assignment sheets based on the master schedule and ensure postings are completed consistently.
- Participate in quality assurance activities as needed.
- Collect and report issues related to central supply, transportation, or DME for QA review.
- Follow up on identified concerns and assist with implementing corrective actions.
- Assist in general organization and cleanliness of nurses’ stations and related clinical spaces.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Administrator.
