Coating Engineer
Job Summary

Duties
- Identify and execute Hard Coat / Base coat process that meets or exceeds customer specifications and quality.
- Develop program and process that efficiently produces quality parts.
- Setup UV/Oven profiles that efficiently/effectively cure coatings materials.
- Setup initial Robot program that efficiently coats parts and meets customer specifications.
- Monitor process efficiency and material consumption to ensure maximum performance is being achieved.
- Establish standard process’s that can be followed by operators and technicians to effectively produce coated parts that meet or exceed customer specifications.
- Ensure all processes are in compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
- Provide technical support to technical team.
- Assist Industrial Engineer with the Design and development of coatings fixtures.
- Assist sales team with identifying tooling and process cost for quoting “New Business”.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or technical discipline is preferred. However, (5) Years of experience as outlined will be accepted for consideration
- Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing environment with a focus on coatings or materials development.
- Strong knowledge of polymers, plastics processing (including blow molding and injection molding), and process engineering principles.
- Experience with material testing, materials analysis, statistical analysis for research, and engineering data collection.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights for diverse teams.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with laboratory experience in materials science or chemical analysis is highly desirable.
Preferred:
- Experience with powder coating, e-coat, or liquid paint systems.
- Six Sigma certification.
- Coating Inspector Certification (AMPP/NACE).
Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
