Kennel Assistant

The Kennel Assistant provides daily operational support for our daycare, boarding, and grooming departments. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, supervising dogs, assisting with pet care routines, and supporting the front desk team when needed.

This is a physically active and fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a genuine passion for animals.

Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dogs in daycare and boarding areas
• Feed pets and follow medication/feeding instructions accurately
• Walk dogs and monitor behavior during playgroups
• Maintain clean and sanitary play areas, kennels, and common spaces
• Clean up pet accidents throughout the facility
• Assist with bathing, brushing, and drying pets when needed
• Support front desk operations including answering phones and assisting customers
• Monitor pets for behavioral or health concerns and communicate issues to management
• Help maintain overall facility cleanliness and organization

Qualifications

• Previous kennel, daycare, boarding, or animal care experience preferred
• Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds and sizes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Fluent in English and Spanish preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Reliable, punctual, and professional

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks
• Comfortable working around barking dogs, cleaning products, and pet messes
