Role Description The Ambulatory Infusion Nurse is a full-time, on-site role based in Soldotna, AK. This nurse delivers safe, high-quality infusion therapies in an ambulatory setting, including vascular access assessment, IV catheter insertion and maintenance, medication preparation within scope, and continuous monitoring of patient response. Daily responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, reviewing infusion orders, verifying medication protocols, administering therapies, and documenting all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards. The nurse provides clear education to patients and caregivers about treatment plans, side effects, and home care instructions, and promptly escalates changes in condition to prescribing clinicians. This position collaborates closely with physicians, pharmacists, and care coordinators to optimize therapy, supports transitions between home and clinic-based infusions, and contributes to a calm, professional, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications
- Strong clinical foundation in Nursing with current, unrestricted RN license in the state of Alaska (or ability to obtain), and proficiency in evidence-based practice.
- Experience in Medicine and Direct Patient Care, including performing assessments, managing chronic and acute conditions, and responding to changes in patient status.
- Hands-on Home Infusion and ambulatory infusion experience, or equivalent IV therapy experience (e.g., outpatient oncology, infusion centers, or home health) with competency in vascular access and infusion device management.
- Background in Critical Care Medicine or other high-acuity settings is highly beneficial for managing complex patients and infusion-related reactions.
- Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred), strong IV insertion skills, and familiarity with infusion pumps and related technology.
- Excellent communication, patient education, and documentation skills, with the ability to support diverse patient populations respectfully and effectively.
- Ability to work independently in an ambulatory setting, prioritize multiple infusions safely, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; prior ambulatory or home infusion experience preferred.
