PAY

$40 per hour (W-2 employee position)

HOURS

Flexible schedule, 6–10 hours per week (1-2 shifts), with opportunities for additional hours as enrollment grows

ABOUT THE ACADEMY

Founded in St. Augustine in 2020, our Academy has built a reputation for providing exceptional music education in a welcoming, encouraging, and professional environment. As our enrollment continues to grow, we are seeking highly qualified instructors to join our faculty.

Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds and goals. Many study simply for the enjoyment of making music, while others pursue a rigorous course of study that prepares them for conservatory admission, auditions, competitions, and other advanced musical opportunities. We believe every student deserves thoughtful, individualized instruction that inspires both musical excellence and a lifelong love of music.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The ideal candidate is an accomplished musician, an organized and passionate educator, and a consummate professional who enjoys building lasting relationships with students and families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teach individual and small-group music lessons
  • Develop lesson plans tailored to each student's goals and abilities
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Prepare students for recitals, auditions, competitions, and other performance opportunities
  • Incorporate music theory into instruction
  • Maintain accurate lesson notes and student records
  • Communicate professionally with parents and students regarding progress and goals
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and supportive faculty culture

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Advanced proficiency in at least one instrument or musical discipline
  • Strong musicianship and performance skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Passion for teaching students of varying ages and abilities
  • Professionalism, reliability, and strong organizational skills

Preferred

  • Specialization in piano, guitar, violin, or voice
  • Experience preparing students for recitals, auditions, juries, or competitions
  • Video or audio samples of both performance and teaching

Candidates should possess at least one of the following:

  • A degree in music or current enrollment in a collegiate music program
  • Professional performance experience
  • Significant teaching experience in music education
