Hultquist Place is seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our Dietary team. If you take pride in preparing quality meals, enjoy working in a team-focused environment, and want to make a meaningful impact on residents each day, we’d love to meet you!

Schedule:

• Shifts vary based on coverage needs, including every other weekend and two weekday shifts per bi-weekly pay period

What You’ll Do:

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to standardized recipes and daily menus
• Ensure food is prepared in the correct quantity and quality to meet meal service needs
• Maintain appropriate food temperatures and document throughout the cooking and serving process
• Practice proper portion control through accurate measuring and weighing of ingredients
• Conduct taste testing to ensure quality and consistency of meals
• Assist with meal service and ensure adequate food supply throughout service
• Prepare food items in advance for upcoming meals (e.g., prepping meats, vegetables, baked goods)
• Handle and store leftover food properly in accordance with guidelines
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment, including cleaning equipment and workstations
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production needs and adjustments
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
• Support team operations and assist where needed to ensure smooth daily workflow
• Participate in required trainings and quality improvement initiatives (QAPI)
• Perform additional duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• 1–2 years of food preparation experience required, preferably in a healthcare or large-scale food service setting
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently when needed
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
• Reliable with a positive, team-oriented attitude
