Hultquist Place is seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our Dietary team. If you take pride in preparing quality meals, enjoy working in a team-focused environment, and want to make a meaningful impact on residents each day, we’d love to meet you!
Schedule:
- Shifts vary based on coverage needs, including every other weekend and two weekday shifts per bi-weekly pay period
What You’ll Do:
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to standardized recipes and daily menus
- Ensure food is prepared in the correct quantity and quality to meet meal service needs
- Maintain appropriate food temperatures and document throughout the cooking and serving process
- Practice proper portion control through accurate measuring and weighing of ingredients
- Conduct taste testing to ensure quality and consistency of meals
- Assist with meal service and ensure adequate food supply throughout service
- Prepare food items in advance for upcoming meals (e.g., prepping meats, vegetables, baked goods)
- Handle and store leftover food properly in accordance with guidelines
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment, including cleaning equipment and workstations
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding production needs and adjustments
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
- Support team operations and assist where needed to ensure smooth daily workflow
- Participate in required trainings and quality improvement initiatives (QAPI)
- Perform additional duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 1–2 years of food preparation experience required, preferably in a healthcare or large-scale food service setting
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently when needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
- Reliable with a positive, team-oriented attitude
