The Chaplain provides pastoral care, worship leadership and spiritual enrichment programs for residents, families and staff.
Qualifications
Chaplain requirements include:
- A Bachelor of Divinity from an accredited seminary or educational institution, or its equivalent; Masters of Divinity degree from accredited seminary preferred; Ordination or commission for service to function in a ministry of pastoral care;
- Current ecclesiastical endorsement from the appropriate faith group to whom the chaplain is accountable for the ministry (such as, Lutheran or other Protestant ministry).
- Pastoral care experience.
- A personal, pastoral presence
- An understanding of the elderly and aging process
- Ability to work empathetically with patients, residents, families, and staff
- Ability to function as a part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to work independently, evidencing good judgment in decision-making
- Ability to express ideas effectively both orally and in writing
- Professional appearance in keeping with meeting public
- Working knowledge of computers, Microsoft Word and Excel required.
