About the Role:

The Certified Med Aide plays a crucial role in ensuring the health and well-being of residents at Concordia Senior Living. This position involves administering medications and monitoring the health status of residents, which is essential for maintaining their quality of life. The Med Aide will collaborate closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans. Additionally, this role requires effective communication with residents and their families to provide education and support regarding medication management. Ultimately, the Certified Med Aide contributes significantly to creating a safe and nurturing environment for all residents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 1 year experience required.
  • Current certification as a Medication Aide in the state of employment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with elderly populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in assisted living or long-term care facilities.
  • Additional certifications in geriatric care or related fields.
  • Bilingual skills to effectively communicate with a diverse resident population.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
  • Monitor residents for any side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report findings to the nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of medication administration and resident health status.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare team members.
  • Provide education and support to residents and their families regarding medication management and health maintenance.

The required skills for this position include strong attention to detail, which is essential for accurately administering medications and monitoring residents' health. Effective communication skills are vital for interacting with residents, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring that everyone is informed and involved in care decisions.
