Position: Summer Camp Instructor
Responsible to: Program Director & Camp Directors
Role Mission:
- Foster spiritual growth and development in others through interactive Bible studies, worships, intentional play, and fellowship.
- Plant seeds that prepare and teach campers the discipleship and service to support Creation stewardship.
- Provide a community of love and acceptance, where all people are affirmed, supported, and free to be children of God.
- Support the overall ministry of our congregations and minister to the needs of others.
Responsibilities:
- Familiarization with summer camp program, personnel policies, and participation in the paid summer staff orientation session
- Responsibility for the physical and emotional safety of 8-12 campers during a week-long stay at camp or day camp.
- Lead daily program activities, such as Bible studies, worship, games, arts and crafts, recreation activities, community building, and all other activities deemed necessary for execution of the summer camp program as directed by the Program Director.
- Connect and lead campers, getting to know them and help build their confidence and friendships.
- Participation in:
- Community living for the duration of hire with other staff
- Worship, devotions, work projects, and social events
- Shared responsibilities such as dishes, camp cleaning, hospitality, and kitchen help as deemed necessary by the Camp Directors
Qualifications:
- Understanding and enacting the mission and program of Lutheran, Retreats, Camps, and Conferences.
- Commitment and care for the outdoors, education, spiritual growth, and children’s development.
- 18 years or older.
- Willingness to serve, work, and live in a Christ-centered community.
Compensation:
- Housing, room & board, food, transportation provided on-site for duration of hire
- $350 - $450 per week of employment in addition to the above
- Staff members will work six days a week with occasional weekend responsibilities
