Summary
Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the day to day oversight and delivery of services within the housekeeping department. This position is responsible for the supervision of department staff, implementation of resource allocation procedures and assuring compliance with applicable state and federal regulations and codes. This position is responsible to facilitate the cleanliness, sanitation and readiness of the facilities in a safe, effective and timely manner.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Major Responsibilities Measure
1. Supervises housekeeping Prioritizes work flow, practices, and scheduling of staff functions Monitors the quality of housekeeping services on a consistent basis , performing routine inspections of the building to ensure quality of services
- Responds to staff and resident concerns
- Coordinates appropriate responses to emergency or urgent requests for cleaning services or sanitation situations
- Continually monitors and adjusts workflow to meet changing needs of residents
- Complies with all applicable State of Wisconsin Statutes and Wisconsin Administrative Codes including DHS 83 Community-Based Residential Facilities and DHS 89 Residential Care Apartment Complexes
2. Supervises housekeeping Provides supervisory leadership and direction to staff housekeepers on a day-to-day basis including one-on-one meetings with direct reports, team meetings, training and supervision, ongoing staff development, hiring, disciplines, performance reviews, proactive communication, resource management, and assurance of staff compliance with policies and procedures as well as laws, rules, regulations, and other requirements
- Provides staff orientation, education and training so as to assure safe use of chemicals, products and equipment
- Implements policies and procedures for staff compliance with state and federal codes, laws, and guidelines related to housekeeping
3. Works with manager and Ensures the appropriate use of chemicals and equipment staff to select and in accordance with safety data sheets, manufacturer implement products and recommendations and/or state and federal regulations equipment that meets Observes all necessary precautions, procedures, and quality and cost safety in the use of equipment and supplies. guidelines Initiates repair or replacement of equipment as needed
4. Cleaning of facility, Maintains and cleans all common areas in an orderly fashion to uphold a clean environment; common areas furnishings include restrooms, elevators, stairwells, corridors, community rooms, all common use areas in building
- Thoroughly cleans resident apartments and suites per assigned cleaning methods
- Collects trash and recyclables, replaces liners and properly disposes of trash and recyclables
- Removes dust and dirt on surfaces
- Maintains floors by dry/wet mopping and vacuuming; spot cleans carpets
- Spot cleans windows, and surfaces
- Keeps vents, cooling units, and radiators dust-free
- Maintains all cleaning equipment and ensures that it is in good repair
- Washes walls as needed
- Responds to emergency cleaning and sanitation needs
- Uses chemicals properly and maintains chemical dispensing units; adds chemicals as needed; makes sure all chemicals are properly labeled
- Moves facility and or resident furniture as needed
- Prepares vacant apartments for new resident move-in per new resident cleaning procedures
- Cleans vacant apartments as assigned including running water and flushing toilets per schedule in vacant apartments and suites
- Cleans outdoor gazebo/other areas each spring
- Reports to management all needs for repair of equipment, furniture, building, and fixtures
- Maintains safe and hazard-free environment
- Reports to management anything unusual or suspicious
- Maintains resident and employee confidentiality
5. Attendance Attendance is an essential requirement for this position
6. Any and all other duties To be determined by supervisor as assigned by supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
Education A high school diploma or equivalent is required
- Associate degree in Environmental Services or Hospitality
Management is preferred
Experience Minimum of 3 years of experience in housekeeping/cleaning and floor care in institutional/hospitality settings
- Previous supervisory/management experience is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe and effective application and use of chemicals utilized in institutional/hospitality cleaning and floor care
- Demonstrated knowledge of safe and effective operation and use of cleaning and floor care equipment
- Knowledge of infection control practices related to sanitation and cleaning

Salary : $20 - $25
