What are the responsibilities and job description for the Life Enrichment position at Lutheran Homes of South Carolina, Inc.?
The incumbent is responsible for assisting in the preparation and implementation of all resident’s activity program including directing games, exercises, craft seminars, cook outs, music therapy, devotional and other social events for the Residents. Coordinates with Nursing Staff activities for the Residents and notifies Nursing Staff if a resident has any nursing concerns. Insures that on-going supplies are maintained and appropriate set-ups of equipment/areas are in place in a timely and neat fashion.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years experience in recreation preferred.
- Must have a valid South Carolina driver’s license
- An imaginative and empathetic personality with regards to the elderly and those with illnesses is a must.
- Incumbent must have a working knowledge of telephone, copier, VCR, TV, cassette player/stereo equipment, piano and other musical instruments, typewriter, personal computer, activity assessment forms, van/vehicle, wheelchairs and walkers.
