Environmental Services - Housekeeping - Pine Valley - FT

Housekeeping is more than a cleaning job at Lutheran Life Villages. As a housekeeper (EVS Assistant) at Lutheran Life Villages, you will be responsible for engaging with residents while providing a clean, safe and welcoming environment they will enjoy. The Environmental Services department is also responsible for providing services associated with laundry work to meet the campus needs as well.

Schedule: 8:00 am to 4:30, Monday-Friday, and every other weekend

Maintains facility and resident halls in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Provides services associated with laundry work to meet establishment needs.

Essential Job Functions for Housekeeping

1. Maintains common areas, offices, employee/resident lounges, public bathrooms and hallways in a clean and orderly condition.
2. Dust mops/spot mops all common areas and hallways as assigned.
3. Cleans bathrooms.
   1. Washes, sanitizes, and/or polishes bathroom fixtures. Assures water marks are removed.
   2. Maintains/refills supplies.
4. Discards waste/trash into proper containers and relines trash receptacle with plastic liner.
5. Cleans/polishes water fountains; stocks/re-stock drinking cups.
6. Vacuums lounge areas; organizes magazines/reading materials; ensures order.
7. Damp dusts/High dusts all furniture, sills, ledges and handrails.
8. Monitors ceiling tiles, walls, handrails, floors, vents and baseboards; writes maintenance requisition for repairs.
9. Washes and replaces dining room table cloths.
10. Assures work areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies are properly stored at all times as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times and at end of shift.
11. Performs housekeeping/cleaning functions.
12. Makes residents’ beds daily; replaces with clean sheets weekly.
13. Clean, washes, sanitizes and/or polishes bathroom fixtures. Assures water marks are removed.
14. Cleans shower curtains removing soil and mildew.
15. Cleans windows/mirrors in assigned areas.
16. Vacuums carpets and spot clean needed areas.
17. Removes dirt, dust, grease, film, etc. from surfaces.
18. Cleans floors including sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, etc.
19. Assures appropriate caution or safety signs are set up prior to performing such duties.
20. Cleans walls by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting or deodorizing, etc.
21. Discards waste/trash into proper containers and relines trash receptacle with plastic liner.
22. Cleans and polishes furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units in all areas of facility as instructed.
23. Assures work areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times and at end of shift.
24. Performs terminal/discharge cleaning as instructed.
25. Cleans vacant rooms as assigned.

Essential Job Functions for Laundry

1.   Transports soiled linen to laundry room.
2.   Sorts soiled linens.
3.   Operates washer and dryer.
4.   Folds clean laundry.
5.   Transports clean laundry from laundry room to hall storage areas, delivers clean linen and clothing to specified areas.
6.   Ensures adequate supply of linen on halls.
7.   Organizes hall linen closets.
8.   Washes resident’s laundry as requested.
9.   Tumbles/fluffs draperies.
10.   Searches for missing clothing/items.
11.   Cleans surfaces of machines.
12.   Cleans dryer vents.
13.   Discards worn out or unusable items.
14.   Cleans walls in soiled linen room.
