Position Summary:

  • The Director of Quality Assurance facilitates the organization’s quality strategy, supporting the development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical quality improvement (QI) initiatives across all programs. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation requirements, and evidence-based practices, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and clinical excellence.


Job Duties:

  • Serve as a key participant in the design, execution, and continuous refinement of the organization’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
  • Ensure clinical services consistently meet or exceed quality benchmarks established by accrediting bodies (e.g., SAMHSA, COA)
  • Develop, manage, and oversee quality audits, clinical documentation reviews, and fidelity monitoring across programs
  • Facilitate root cause analyses, track corrective action plans, and oversee the implementation of process improvements following adverse events or identified deficiencies
  • Lead QI committees, workgroups, and organization-wide initiatives focused on care optimization and client outcomes
  • Collaborate closely with Compliance, Risk Management, and Program Leadership to align quality efforts with regulatory, ethical, and safety standards
  • Provide training, coaching, and consultation to staff and leaders on QI methodologies, clinical best practices, and performance improvement strategies
  • Analyze, interpret, and present quality data to internal leadership and external stakeholders to inform decision-making
  • Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for innovation in service delivery and recommend evidence-based solutions
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and emerging trends in clinical quality to ensure organizational readiness and excellence
  • Serve as a resource and champion for fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.

  • Knowledge of performance improvement models, regulatory requirements, and accreditation processes relevant to behavioral health services.
  • Awareness and sensitivity of our constituents and populations served by employees.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, and promptness for work.

Education and Experience:

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Behavioral Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field is required.
  • Active Nebraska clinical licensure as a Registered Nurse, Clinical Social Worker, Therapist, or Professional Counselor is preferred.
  • At least five to seven years of progressive leadership experience in clinical quality, healthcare performance improvement, or related role(s) is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise with regulatory standards for behavioral health (e.g., SAMHSA, NCQA, HRSA)
  • Experience leading cross-functional improvement teams and using QI tools (e.g., PDSA, LEAN, Six Sigma)
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of liability auto insurance, & the ability to drive/travel, as needed.


Physical Requirements:

  • Professional office environment with occasional travel to various program sites and meeting locations as required.
  • Company-issued laptop and cell phone.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
