What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Visitor (Multilingual) position at Lutheran Community Services Northwest?

THE ROLE: The Home Visitor will provide parenting information, resources, and  support to highly stressed parents as a member of the Healthy Families team at A Family Place.  This involves providing intensive home visiting services, group facilitation as needed, and  cooperating with the lead agency and other providers in the Healthy Families collaboration. This is  a full-time position at 37.5 hours a week. This position requires fluency in both English and  Spanish languages. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  Provide outreach and engage new families  Complete and document regular home visits based on a schedule mutually agreed upon by  each family and the Home Visitor, in coordination with supervisor  Maintain a caseload of 11-18 families, or 17 to 22 caseload points, as recommended by  HFA  Incorporate research-based parenting education into home visits  Utilize the Growing Great Kids/Growing Great Families curriculum to engage families in  parent-child activities, facilitate positive attachment, and promote infant mental health  Assist families to identify and achieve parenting and personal goals  Complete home visit documentation, State Evaluation surveys, and required screenings in  a timely fashion to meet the standards of Healthy Families and MIECHV  Participate in MIECHV Continuous Quality Improvement projects  Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members and  facilitate development of a positive staff support network  Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the  cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of populations served   QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each  essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with  disabilities to perform the essential functions.  English & Spanish language fluency Experience in working with or providing services to children and families   Ability to establish trusting relationships  Ability to work with parents and their children in a warm, calming, respectful, encouraging,  and patient manner  Acceptance of individual differences  Experience and humility to work with culturally diverse families and colleagues  Knowledge of infant and child development  Open to reflective practice (i.e. has capacity for introspection, communicates awareness of  self in relation to others, recognizes value of supervision, etc.)  Infant Mental Health endorsement preferred  Knowledge of, and ability to work with social service agencies, schools, and other agencies  regarding referrals and treatment continuity  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to include basic computer skills and  email usage  Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team member  Ability to be very organized regarding paperwork, be detailed oriented, and have ability to  effectively prioritize work responsibilities  Must be able to work well under pressure and be able to work in a multicultural setting  Requires strict adherence of HIPAA standards in the office workspace to ensure  confidentiality  EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is  required. Lived expertise/experience in child development, parenting education, and/or home  visiting, or equivalent college coursework is required. Knowledge of Trauma-Informed  Approaches/Care, Adverse Childhood Experiences, substance use disorders, mental health  challenges, and learning difficulties is preferred. Experience working with young parents, rural  populations, and multi-stressed families is preferred.   CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have a current driver’s license, car  insurance, and daily access to a vehicle.
