Summary
The Vice President, Ministry Solutions – Grace Place Wellness is responsible for Grace Place Wellness operations, under the direction of the Sr. Vice President, Ministry Solutions. Working as in integrated member of the Ministry Solutions staff, and in collaboration with the LCEF District Vice Presidents, the Vice President, Ministry Solutions – Grace Place Wellness will focus on providing wellness resources to the congregations, schools, and other ministries of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod through traditional wellness retreat programming and associated worker wellness resources while developing new mechanisms to promote joy in ministry across the LCMS.

Essential Job Functions
- The Vice President, Ministry Solutions – Grace Place Wellness will serve as the primary resource and content specialist relating to worker wellness and Grace Place Wellness programming as an integrated service offering within the Ministry Solutions’ portfolio of services.
- In close coordination with the Ministry Solutions staff, the District Vice Presidents, and LCEF’s National Lending group, ensure traditional Grace Place retreat opportunities are secured and facilitated.
- Collaborating with Ministry Solutions staff, identify, recruit, train, and deploy part-time Grace Place Wellness retreat facilitators to increase operational capacity, while ensuring the right facilitator is assigned to each opportunity providing the best service to our clients while ensuring the best conditions are in place to produce positive outcomes, for the client and for LCEF.
- Essential components:
- Continually seek potential part-time consultants with an eye toward balancing the diversity of the group to align part-time facilitator assignments with the ministry environment they will be serving in, while ensuring there are an appropriate number of facilitators to meet demand.
- Actively coordinate the deployment of part-time facilitators to ensure excellence of service, matching the facilitators to the opportunity.
- Ensuring all part-time facilitators are adequately trained to fully represent LCEF, Ministry Solutions, and Grace Place Wellness in whatever ministry setting they are assigned.
- Ensuring all operations are conducted with fiscal responsibility.
- Provide regular performance summaries to the Sr. Vice President, Ministry Solutions for all part-time facilitators.
- Perform ongoing evaluations through a combination of client interaction and post-process follow-up to evaluate the processes, outcomes, and individual consultant performance.
- In close collaboration with the Ministry Solutions staff, develop worker wellness modules for use within existing Ministry Solutions clarity, planning, campaign, and other processes.
- Administrative and Executive Responsibilities
- The Vice President, Ministry Solutions – Grace Place Wellness is responsible for complying with all LCEF policies and procedures.
- Budgeting – responsible for providing annual (fiscal year) budget detail concerning anticipated revenues and expenses related to Grace Place Wellness operations.
- Providing quarterly reports or other feedback, as directed by the Sr. Vice President, Ministry Solutions, designed to keep senior management and the LCEF Board of Directors fully informed about Ministry Solutions – Grace Place Wellness activities, including current initiatives and future opportunities.
- Serve as the primary LCEF Ministry Solutions – Grace Place Wellness representative at various national, regional, and district conferences/workshops. Conference attendance is coordinated as a team and must be approved by the Sr. Vice President, Ministry Solutions.
- As a part of the LCEF Ministry Solutions team:
- Attend LCMS Triennial Synod Convention.
- Attend other conferences or gatherings as required.
- Attend regular Ministry Solutions staff gatherings.
- Represent LCEF Ministry Solutions as needed under the direction of the Sr. Vice President, Ministry Solutions.
- Ongoing Process Development – working in collaboration with the Ministry Solutions staff, continually work to refine, enhance, and perfect the various Ministry Solutions – Grace Place Wellness processes.
Education and Experience
- LCMS Rostered Status – Ordained Perferred.
- Ten or more years of experience as an LCMS parish pastor preferred.
- Experience working with and managing a ministry team.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
- Superior skills in communication, relationship development and nurture, public speaking, organization, group facilitation, and sales.
- Broad knowledge of the LCMS, its mission and polity, with the ability to work effectively with various entities across the LCMS.
- Highly adaptable with an ability to apply dynamic solutions as each situation dictates rather than rely upon static and formulaic practices.
- Proficiency in budgeting with the ability to provide reasonable projections of future costs and revenues related to worker wellness activities, and a demonstrated understanding of the correlation between finances and ministry operations.
- Complete understanding of LCEF mission and ministry; fully articulate about LCEF Ministry Solutions processes and offerings, or a demonstrated ability to assimilate this information fully and quickly.
- Persistence in pursuing opportunities and a passion for complete follow-through.
- Active member of an LCMS congregation and a Rostered Church Worker in good standing with the Synod.
- A desire to see ministries and the workers who serve them thrive, all for the sake of the Gospel.
