Maintenance Technician

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Status: Full-Time | On-Site

Compensation: Competitive hourly pay $3,000 Sign-On Bonus

On-Call Requirement: Mandatory (one week per month)

Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable, and well-functioning facilities for staff and residents. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, repair, safety checks, and emergency response, including mandatory on-call coverage.

This position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, safety-focused, reliable, and comfortable working independently while supporting a mission-driven environment.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

Within your first 90 days, you will:

  1. Complete routine facility inspections and address issues proactively

  2. Follow and contribute to preventive maintenance schedules and documentation

  3. Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies safely and efficiently

  4. Maintain compliance with safety standards and organizational policies

  5. Support a clean, functional environment for residents and staff

Core Responsibilities

Preventive & Routine Maintenance

  1. Perform daily and routine inspections of campus facilities

  2. Assist with planning and documenting preventive maintenance schedules

  3. Identify, diagnose, and repair facility and equipment issues

Repairs & Emergency Response

  1. Complete repairs and replacements related to facilities and equipment

  2. Assist with major repairs as needed

  3. Respond to on-call maintenance needs during nights, weekends, and holidays

Safety & Facility Support

  1. Identify and address safety hazards promptly

  2. Follow safety procedures to protect residents, staff, and property

  3. Assist housekeeping as needed to maintain clean and safe environments

Documentation & Team Support

  1. Maintain basic maintenance logs and documentation

  2. Support cross-training and shared knowledge of equipment and systems

  3. Complete additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Capabilities

  1. Ability to diagnose and complete general maintenance repairs independently
  2. Working knowledge of preventive maintenance practices

  3. Strong safety awareness and attention to detail

  4. Ability to respond calmly to urgent or emergency maintenance needs

  5. Reliability and willingness to participate in mandatory on-call rotation

  6. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Age 21 or older

  2. Valid Driver’s License

  3. Minimum 2 years of demonstrated commercial maintenance experience

  4. Ability to meet physical demands of the role

Preferred Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED

  2. Experience in residential, campus, or institutional maintenance settings
