The Maintenance Mechanic maintains the facility's equipment to ensure the safety and reliability of equipment. This selected candidate demonstrates an understanding of HVAC.
Essential Job Functions
- Perform scheduled maintenance checks and maintain facility equipment to ensure safe and working order
- Review, prioritize and assign incoming work orders to assure full completion of work in a timely manner.
- Communicate work request/project status to the customer in a timely manner.
- Assign project and relief staff as needed to meet work demands.
- Provide input for annual staff performance evaluations.
- Arrange and /or conduct training of staff including ongoing educational programs.
- Assists in obtaining bids for competitive pricing from vendors and contractors.
- Coordinates equipment/system shutdowns for repairs with the staff/volunteers of programs/ departments affected and with contractors.
- Assures compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
- Assures state and federal paperwork is up to date at all times
- Orders parts/supplies and maintains inventories.
- Assists in the review of contractors and assures satisfactory job completion.
- Provides work for the facility-wide to assure compliance to local, state, and federal code.
- Advanced knowledge and skills in the areas of mechanical systems, including some HVAC experience.
- High school graduate or equivalent. Technical school graduate or equivalent experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in maintenance skills, preferably in a nursing home or health care setting.
- City of Wauwatosa electrical license and City of Milwaukee high pressure boiler license , a plus
- Must be mobile in order to perform the variety of tasks associated with essential job functions.
- Transport objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Withstand temperature extremes from -10° F to 120° F for several hours at a time.
- Ability to distinguish colors.
- Available for on call responsibilities as assigned
- Have a valid Wisconsin drivers license.
- Acquire and maintain Mechanic Certification , a plus
